Happy Last Year
The Curated Year: Ronda, Portugal, Prague, and Skyelark in motion.
2024 did not shout. It edited.
Fourteen posts. Eleven active months. Four films that carried the year farther than a long list ever could. The map narrowed, but the meaning deepened: a bullring in Ronda, the Atlantic edge of Portugal, an anniversary in Prague, and Skyelark turning every border into a doorway.
This was not a year of collecting destinations. It was a year of choosing scenes worth keeping.
The year was smaller on the calendar and larger on the screen.
The 2024 Ed Flix Cut
Four films. Four different kinds of movement. Together they form the year’s visual autobiography.
Skyelark’s Latest Adventure
The year’s natural lead performer. Skyelark does not visit a place; she tests it, claims it, and leaves pawprints in the edit.
Portugal With Skyelark
Golden cliffs, open water, and the Algarve as a moving backdrop. Portugal becomes less a destination than a shared field of play.
Bullfights and Culture: Ronda
Spain’s oldest bullring, Hemingway’s “moment of truth,” and a city balanced above a gorge. Ronda turns travel into literary pilgrimage.
Prague Weekend: “I Wonder...”
Cobblestones, castle views, café light, and an anniversary measured in laughter rather than mileage. Prague supplies the year’s romantic final reel.
The Year in Four Frames
What 2024 Was Really About
Companionship
The camera kept returning to Sarah and Skyelark. The best geography was shared geography.
Culture
Ronda and Prague were not backdrops. Their stories entered the frame and changed the meaning of the trip.
Restraint
Fourteen posts were enough. The archive stopped measuring momentum by volume and started measuring it by signal.
Motion
Movement remained the method: coastlines, cobblestones, dog walks, cards, cafés, and the next horizon.
The 2024 Archive
Eleven active months, one deliberate intermission, and fourteen published entries.
The best years are not always the busiest.
Sometimes the real work is deciding what belongs in the final cut. In 2024, the archive became more selective, the films became more personal, and travel became what it had always been underneath: a way of staying awake to the people beside you.
2024 was not the loudest year. It was the best edited.
